Happy 1st of July!
July is a very busy month for us:
Like all good Americans, we celebrate our independence on the 4th.
Four days later, on the 8th, we celebrate Jacks birthday.
Three days later, on the 11th, we celebrate Nates birthday.
Four days later, on the 15th, we celebrate our anniversary.
So just about every 4 days at the beginning of the month, we have something to celebrate. Very exciting. Stay tuned for lots of updates......
In the meantime, I'll update you on our start of summer fun!
The kids and I came down to my parents Cape house last Thursday. Our original plan was to arrive on Friday, but house construction pushed us out a little early.
Jay arrived on Thursday evening after work. We spent the weekend hitting our favorite summer Cape spots; Lighthouse Beach in Chatham, our local beach, Dairy Queen, Sundae School and of course Grammi and Papa's backyard.
On Monday, Jay made his way back to work and home, but the kids and I stayed here with Grammi. Jack and Remy are taking swimming lessons at the lake...and doing very well! They both love waking up every morning, getting swimsuits and sunscreen on then heading to the lake.
In the afternoons, we have been hitting the ocean beach. Everyone loves going there...including Nate! It can get a little dicey at times trying to watch all three kids. Jack and Remy are pretty good about staying close but they dont like to get out of the water AT ALL. Nate LOVES the ocean. Although he still needs my hand to help him walk, at the ocean he refuses to hold it...and can be found trying to get deeper and deeper into the water at all times.
In fact, it doesnt stop at the ocean. Nate must have thought when I said that we were going to swim lessons, it would be his opportunity to learn. He actually tried to swim after Remy the other day by crawling at first, then slowly going over his head and moving his arms. He screamed hysterically, only because I tried to pull him out. The boy doesnt stop trying to challenge me.
Back at Grammi's house, we have been having lots of fun. Jack is outside almost every minute of the day. He has lost 4 wiffle balls already due to his "out of the park" runs.

Remy's favorite part of the outside is the garage, which she considers her very own stuffed animal house. She brings her animals in and out playing all day long.

When the day is coming to an end, we meet up inside for dinner. Nate has been pushing Remy around in her old Dora car. I dont know how he manages to move so much weight...but he goes very fast. Remy is good about making sure she keeps the care from hitting anything so its a win win.

Grammi has been good about making sure we are all fed and taken care of. She has also been enjoying one or two (childrens) movies, but I dont know if she'll admit to it.

After Nate heads to bed, we have taken up with a routine of watching a kid friendly movie and/or reading a chapter from "Danny, Champion of the World"- part of the Roald Dahl series that Auntie Molly and Uncle Bri gave Jack for Christmas.
So that is our routine for the past week....we have had a lot of fun. We are also looking forward to lots of guests and visitors this weekend for the 4th....and all the celebrations after that!
So fun! We had a great time visiting as well :) Great pictures
